The Vampire Chronicles fandom is more than a load of banned writings by persecuted spec authors! There are less verboten things like icons, fanart, film news and rumours, essays and reviews. Isn't it terrible how one has to dig around to find these things? Are you worried that you're missing out on a Louis/Lestat portrait, or an analysis of why Benji must die?

Worry no longer! The aim of this community is to collate pieces of VC-related media for us fans. Posting access is open to everyone to share fic, icons, artwork, and news items related to the Vampire Chronicles. You are also allowed to pimp your own fic, artwork, icons, etc.

Rules and Community Guidelines

1. Mods. Your friendly moderators are rebness, cloudsinvenice, burnadette_dpdl, desecrets and mumsisdaughter. We are happy to answer all your queries and take suggestions. You can contact us by email or PM.

2. Content. Posts must be about both a) the Vampire Chronicles and b) some form of media. Media can be self-generated or pulled from the mass media. This includes but is not limited to photos, artwork, video, news articles, blog posts, meta, fic, fanmixes and icons. At the moment we do not allow advertisements for RPGs and other communities (try dw_community_promo, fandom_on_dw, fandomcalendar or pimpur_vamp_rpg), nor do we allow file-sharing (you can post fanmixes via legal streaming services like 8tracks and Spotify). If you are unsure whether your post is appropriate, feel free to contact the mods. If we show up to tell you that your post is off-topic, please don't take it personally. Our job is to maintain the community towards its intended purpose.

3. Posting. All members may post. You can post your own fic, artwork, relevant media articles, etc. If you would like to post the work of other artists or authors please ask permission and give them credit; alternatively just link to the item in question. All large pictures must be posted behind a cut. Here's how to do that, and also how to link to other users. All fic must be locked to avoid Ricean attack dogs. If you have a subject for general discussion or a piece of meta, please let us know - we love these, but since we're primarily a media community we like to schedule them for Saturdays as part of our Scrutiny Samedi series. If you are considering selling artwork or other items please contact the mods first; we approve these posts on a case-by-case basis.

4. Deleting Posts. Please also do not delete posts. If you are concerned about something, or regret posting your Petronia and Mael fic, please approach one of the mods. Split time zones mean we're around pretty much throughout the entire day and we will act swiftly to help.

5. Tagging. The mods will tag all posts to avoid confusion. Don't worry, we will not ignore your post, provided that we have the appropriate tag/s.

6. General Etiquette. Please be respectful and polite, especially in debate. Personal attacks on other members, other fan groups, or other fan communities (or people within those communities) will not be tolerated in any form. Before you post, check whether what you are going to post has already been posted. We're not expecting you to be familiar with the whole archive of posts, but spend a few minutes checking appropriate tags and recent posts to avoid repetition.

7. Regular Events. Periodically we post art round-ups and fic reports. On Fridays we post CAPSLOCK FRIDAYS, for shouty VC and off-topic discussion, when a member has a general discussion idea or meta post we schedule those for Saturdays as Scrutiny Samedi, and Sundays are Drabble Dimanche, for 100-word stories on suggested topics. Sometimes we hold book re-reads and community challenges. Any other suggestions are welcome!

8. Joining. The comm is open to all, but some posts are locked and members-only. To ensure that you see everything, you may want to join rather than just add it to your flist.
